Mandya : CS Putttaraju, the JD(S) candidate from Mandya has suspected foul play by the Congress in the counting of votes of Mandya Lok Sabha by-elections.

Speaking to reporters outside the counting centre even as counting was underway in the morning,  Puttaraju alleged  that  the  counting was done by violating the rules and regulations. He alleged that initial counting was held in those constituencies where the Congress MLAs were in power  contrary to rules that counting should be conducted simultaneously.

He had also alleged that  the election officials were resorting to counting according to their own whims and fancies, by heeding to the Congress. He had also sought a clarification from Deputy Commissioner BN Krishnaiah  on the counting process.
