Mysuru: The mortal remains of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s son Rakesh Siddaramaiah, who died of multi-organ failure at a hospital in Belgium on Saturday, will be kept for public tribute at Dasara Grounds in Mysuru on Monday, August 1.

Minister for PWD and close confidant of Siddaramaiah, HC Mahadevappa said that Rakesh’s mortal remains will be kept for public tribute between 11 am and 1.30 pm on Monday before taking to his native place for cremation at Katur in Jayapura. The cremation is likely to take place in the evening before sunset, he added.
Earlier, it was said that the mortal remains of Rakesh will reach Bengaluru by Sunday. But now, it’s confirmed that it will arrive by Monday morning to Bengaluru city. The body is expected reach by 9 am on Monday, August 1 at Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru.
The delay in bringing the body is cited towards technical snag and formalities required to be finalised by the Brussels’ authorities and hospital, where he underwent treatment.
The body will be shifted to Mysuru in a special flight from Bengaluru.
Most of the politicians cutting across the party line are expected to participate in the cremation ceremony. Rakesh enjoys a good clout of friends from all the party members, especially with JD(S) as his father’s political roots go with the party.
Rakesh had been to Belgium for a tour, during the course of which he developed pancreatic problem and was admitted to Brussels Antewerp University Hospital. He was suffering from severe stomach pain for which he was admitted to the hospital, but later it came to light that he was suffering from severe pancreatic problem which forced even Siddaramaiah, his wife Parvathi and younger son Dr Yathindra to go to Belgium on Friday, July 29. Rakesh breathed his last the next day.
