Mangaluru: The grief of having lost a child can be felt only by a father who has lost one and I fully understand the CM’s grief, said Union minister D V Sadananda Gowda reacting to the untimely death of Rakesh Siddaramaiah, elder son of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
DVS speaking to reporters in Mangaluru said, “I can understand his pain, I too had lost my son.” It may be recalled that DVS had lost his elder son Kaushik Gowda in a road accident in 2003.

Siddaramaiah need to discharge his duties as the head of the state in this difficult period and it will be possible only if he sees his son in every youth in the state, he added.

Union minister D V Sadananda Gowda was in city to meet the kin of army personnel Yeknath Shetty who was onboard missing IAF plane. He visited the family members of Shetty and assured all support. The IAF AN-32 aircraft carrying 29 people onboard went missing over the Bay of Bengal on July 22.

Though several Sangh Parivar members continued to post sadistic comments on Facebook and Twitter celebrating the demise of CM’s son, hundreds of leaders including from the opposition parties have condoled the untimely death.

Rakesh Siddaramaiah, who died of multi-organ failure at a hospital in Belgium on Saturday, July 30, was on a tour of France and Belgium with his friends when he developed the medical complications stemming from a previous illness caused by an accident he had been in 15 years ago.
