Madikeri : A voter awareness  jatha was kick started  in the town on April 4, Friday by PI Srividya, ZP CEO by handing over  a placard with an awareness message to the participants. The programme was organised  by the District Committee on Voters Education and Participation, Department of Women and Child Development and  Department for the Handicapped.

The jatha  was taken out from Bannimantapa to the KS Timmayya Circle via Mahadevapete, Ajjamaada B Devayya Circle. The participants even formed a human chain near the Timmaiah Circle.

In her address Srividya, ZP CEO exhorted the people to compulsorily exercise their franchise.

AM Madappa, Member of the District committee on Voter Education,  Pushpavathi, Municipal Commissioner and others were present.

Officers and staff of the Department of Women and Child Development,  Stree Shakti Groups and others took part in the jatha.
