Gundlupete : Police who have busted a prostitution racket at a resort  here, have arrested nine young women and seven men. Those arrested included some TV actresses from Mumbai and some Bangla women.

Acting on a tip off, a team of the Central Human Trafficking Prevention Squad had raided the   Kaveri Resort  in Kannegala Gram Panchayat limits on October 1,  Tuesday and were successful in making the arrests. It has come to light that prostitution was common in the resort and that there was even a secret exit to help the  people in the racket escape in times of raid.

The locals complain that flesh trade was common in resorts in and around the town and that  young women were lured into the racket after promising rich returns. They have also urged for steps to crack down the racket.
