She  was addressing a huge public meeting at Basaveshwaranagara here after organizing road show at KR Pete and Hosholalu. “ I have come up in Kannada film industry through hard work. Now that I have been given an opportunity to contest the LS Polls, I  have a desire to serve the people. I vow to work for the people of this constituency and live up to their expectations, she said.

Mandya District in-charge Minister and veteran actor Ambarish who also spoke, said as district minister he has the responsibility of seeing to it that the party won from Ramya.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Union Minister Veerappa Moily and several leaders were present.

Allegations of poll code violation : Meanwhile, there are allegations that the CM during his speech at Mandya had violated the poll code of conduct by  announcing a cash  of Rs 10 lakhs to all   families of all the three soldiers from the taluk who died while on duty.
