Permanent Aadhar Enrolment Centres to start functioning today

Mysuru: The Permanent Aadhaar Enrolment Centres will start functioning from today at 872 Nadakacheris, 38 KarnatakaOne Centres and 50 BengaluruOne Centres across the State.

Inaugurating Permanent Aadhaar Enrolment Centre of  Central Government’s Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) Project, Centre for e-Governance, Government of Karnataka, in association with the District Administration here on Wednesday chief minister Siddaramaiah said, ” after the gram Panchayat elections, in the second phase aadhar card enrollment centres will be opened in 6000 grama Panchayats. As of now 78 percent of Karnataka population has enrolled in Aadhar.”

“The main intention of opening aadhar centres across the state is to reach the  aadhar cards to every citizen so that it will help them get the government benefits,” said the CM.

The Deputy director general of UIDAI Ashok Dalwai said, ” Mysuru has stood first in enrollment of aadhar card by getting 98 percent of the population, enrolled and tumakuru follows” .

“After 5 years the biometrics keep changing and the aadhar card will help in its own way. Right now we are unable to reach the age group of 6-18 years which has missed out. On May 15th  a new software will be introduced to enroll those children. We have also asked the social welfare department and women and child welfare department to get the statistics to enable us enroll this age group.”

Revenue and District in-charge minister Srinivas Prasad, ZP president Dr. Pushpa Amarnath, Mayor R Lingappa, MUDA president K R Mohan Kumar, MLA Vasu, corporators girish prasad, pushpalatha chikkanna and many others were present.

CM assures to constitute high power committee for revival of Falcon tyres

Office bearers of Falcon Tyres Employees Union, who are on an indefinite strike and All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) leaders met the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah here at his residence on Wednesday, and  the CM has agreed to constitute a high power committee to revive the factory.

Revenue and district Minister V Srinivas Prasad, AITUC General Secretary H R Sheshadri, Union President Devaraj, leaders Nanjundaswamy, Phanigowda, Kapinigowda and Ravindra also discussed revival plans for the factory.  

Siddharamaiah agreed to constitute a High Power Committee headed by Srinivas Prasad and representatives of Department of Finance, Labour and Commerce to explore the possibilities of re-opening the factory.

Union leaders alleged that the company Chief had resigned and the stalemate should be resolved after discussing with banks which had loaned the factory.
