Mysuru: A modern abattoir planned at Kesare here could be relocated with an empowered panel attached to Mysore City Corporation (MCC) pointing out that the project site abuts a residential area.

On Saturday March 7, District in-charge minister Srinivas Prasad visited Kesare and heard the plight of the residents, who had been opposing the abattoir.
The standing committee on public health has stated that the 14-acre plot in Kesare, where the plant has been proposed — is close to places of worship. They also stated that there are two multi-specialty hospitals in 500-metres radius of the site identified for the abattoir. Following the observations, the civic body has now decided to place the observations of the panel before the council, the apex body of MCC.
Also, Mysuru MP Pratap Simha said that he has accepted the objection letter from the local residents, and will do the needful duly after discussion.
Vasu MLA, DC C Shikha, Mayor Lingappa, Vice Mayor Mahadevamma, Corporation Member Ayub Khan and others were also present.
