Mysuru: Karnataka Kavalu Pade staged a stir against the inaction of the Governor of Karnataka and State Government in appointing heads for the Lokayukta and the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC).

Leading the protesters in front of Gandhi’s statue in city court premises, the chief of the organisation Mohan Kumar Gowda alleged that both the Governor and the government are equally responsible for total inaction in appointing the Lokayuktha and the KPSC chairman.

He said “because of their differences both important state bodies, one which traces the corrupt and punishes guilty and the other which recruits learned and capable people for state administrative machinery are deprived of heads to lead them. Both the governor and the government have the option of not appointing the corrupt and opt for people with credible background and at the same time punishing those proposed if they are found guilty. But they cannot delay the process of appointment for a long period, instead should find suitable candidates at the helm of affairs without which the common people will suffer and will lose total confidence in the state administration. “

The other members belonging to the organisation including S Diwakar, B. Shivaswamy , Majunath , Shivubalaji , Umesh, Mahadev and Marigowda were prominent among those who took part in the protests today.
