Mysuru: An assistant officer working at the statistical department in Mysuru City Corporation (MCC), employed earlier as a co-coordinating officer at New Delhi’s Karnataka Bhavan has lodged a complaint against his senior, serving as the personal assistant of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

The aggrieved official who lodged the complaint is HS Venkatesh Murthy who was working at the statistical division of the MCC. He was transferred to Karnataka Bhavan in Delhi during November 2015. At the same time Mohan Kumar of Mysuru origin and a close confidant of CM Siddaramaiah, was Murthy’s senior at Karnataka Bhavan in New Delhi.

Murthy noticed a lot of irregularities and corruption at the new work place and complained of the same to CM in detail. Angered by Murthy’s move, Mohan Kumar managed to get him transferred back to the parent body, MCC within three months using his political clout.

When Murthy returned to the health department, MCC commissioner CG Besthurmath did not allow him to rejoin work. He was not paid 45 days salary during which he remained idle as he was not allowed to rejoin duty. Disturbed by the developments Murthy conveyed his decision to commit suicide along with family members. Fearing trouble, he was finally allowed to rejoin in the health department where he was serving before.

When Mohan Kumar leant that he had reported back to work, he threatened Murthy’s wife through his henchmen. A case pertaining to this incident was registered at Saraswathipuram police station. Unable to bear the harassment, Murthy who belongs to CM’s Kuruba community has decided to take voluntary retirement after rendering 27 year service at various government departments.

An emotionally disturbed Murthy has lodged a complaint against the trio which includes the CM’s confidante in Delhi’s Karnataka Bhavan Mohan Kumar, MCC Commissioner CG Besthurmath and his senior health officer Ramachandra who harassed him during the last two years.

Murthy has provided the audio clips to the police at KR police station where he lodged his complaint.
