Mysore: Basappa, Deputy Director of Public Instructions has stressed the need to put a check on the rising cases of women and child trafficking in the recent times.







He was speaking at an awareness programme on prevention of women and child trafficking held here on February 28, Friday under the aegis of the District Administration, Department of Women and Child Development, Public Education Department and District Legal Services Authority.
Basappa further said pushing women into sex trade and forcing children to sexual activities and beggary is inhuman and added awareness programmes need to be organized at the gram panchayat level.
Venkatesh, President of Children’s Committee also spoke as a chief guest. Vijay, Deputy Director of Department of Women and Child Development, M Mahadeva, ZP Chief, Yogananda, theatre artiste, Nirmala, Taluk Panchayat President and several others were present.
