Mysuru – Varanasi, Bi weekly express flagged off on first run

Mysuru: Pratap Simha, MP, Mysore constituency,  Dr. B Pushpa Amarnath, President, Zilla Panchayat  and  Vasu, MLA, Chamaraja, Mahadevamma Constituency  flagged off on its first run at the Mysuru Railway Station on December 25 at 0720 hrs. Train No 16229 will depart at Mysore Station at 0720 hrs on Tuesdays and Thursdays and arrive at Varanasi at 1150 hrs on Thursdays  and Saturdays, via Bengaluru City, Yesvantpur, Bellary, Guntakal, Raichur, Gulbarga, Solapur, Kopargaon, Manmad, Bhusaval, Jabalpur.

On its return journey, train No 16230 will depart at Varanasi at 2105 hrs on Thursdays and Saturdays, with effect from December 27 and arrive at Mysuru at 0300 hrs on Sundays and Tuesdays.

The Bi-Weekly Express will have total 16 Coaches, consisting of One AC 2-tier coach, One AC 3-tier coach, Six Second Class Sleeper coaches, Six General Second Class coaches and Two Second Class luggage-cum-brake vans-cum- Disabled coaches.

Speaking to he media Pratap Simha said that the Mysuru-Bangalore City railway works will be completed soon and a high speed train will also be introduced after the improvement of the railway tracks which is going on.

Mysore is the place where people visit through the year, and  in order to give good service to visitors,  more trains and a development program will be introduced,  he added.
