Mysuru: Primary and Secondary Education Minister Tanveer Sait inaugurated Dasara wrestling competition on Saturday, October 1.

Speaking after inaugurating the event he called upon the participants to make maximum use of the competition.

Alongside men’s event, the women’s wrestling championship is scheduled to start on October 4. The 10th All India National Invitational Wrestling Championship for both men and women will be held on October 5 and 6. Apart from state and national competition, traditional Nada Kusthi will be held for six days. Nearly 150 wrestlers will be seen in action.

District minister HC Mahadevappa inaugurated the Dasara Flower Show at Kuppanna Park on Saturday.

The main attraction in the flower show is the replica of Gate Way of India, which was created using 1.5 lakh to 2 lakh roses. Tejas aircraft is another major attraction. Along with this, to mark respect to ambassador cars manufactured by Hindustan Motors, the car was decked up with floral decoration. Apart from this, to attract kids, floral Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck replica, Dolakpur family including Chota Bheem and his companions welcome the visitors.

To commemorate the 100th birth anniversary of Devaraj Urs, a replica of Devaraj Urs and replica of Marigowda, former director of horticulture department called as father of horticulture has been kept on display. The flower show will be open for public till October 12.
