Mysore ZP Chief pulls up officials for inaccurate details

Mysore: Zilla Panchayat President  Koorgalli Mahadevu pulled up officials who failed to provide  satisfactory information regarding various projects. He also reprimanded CDPO Bettegowda  for furnishing false information.

He was presiding over the Mysore taluk level progress review meeting held at the Taluk Panchayat Meeting Hall on June 2, Monday.

The Assistant Executive Engineer of the ZP Engineering Sub-Division informed the meeting that 19 villages were facing drinking water problem. He said already five to six bore wells have been  drilled but are of no use  as water was not sighted even after digging upto 500 to 600 feet deep. Presently, water is supplied through tankers to the affected villages by spending Rs 1,13,000 daily, he stated.

It was also informed at the meeting that  the villages lying in the upper  basin areas of Varuna canal were facing water problem. The officials also stated that there are 92 lakes in Mysore taluk of which only 18 lakes have water while the rest are dried up.

ZP members Javaregowda,  Nirmala, Mahendra and other officials participated in the meeting.
