Mysuru: University of Mysore is likely to host a new course in Travel and Tourism Management from next academic year said VC University of Mysore Prof. K S Rangappa.

He was speaking at a two day workshop on E Content development organised by Centre for Proficiency Development at its seminar hall.
Addressing the gathering, he said that Information Technology is moving forward and we have seen a drastic change in the present times. Without having knowledge in E-content it is difficult to survive. University of Mysore is also stressing for adaptation of e content in academics and in administration is well. We have also completed E-content in the department of Geography, Statistics and Sericulture and we want it to be even larger.
The Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC) is also stressing for E-content generation of all the subjects in which 17 Multimedia Centres in the country will take an active part. Development of E-content is the order of the day and we should be at the forefront to lead other Universities in the country.
Inaugurating the programme Director, Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management Prof Sandeep Kulashreshta said that for Tourism Management we need people with gel. Tourism is been the largest industry and also known as Smokeless Industry. For Tourism, Mysuru, is a better destination compared to Bengaluru which is becoming worse day by day. This city has remained like a paradise when it comes to Tourism be it eco-friendly activities, heritage,, yoga which are the prominent denominators of Tourism. ITTM is likely to assist University of Mysore in promoting Tourism as a different entity.
Reacting to a invitation tendered by Prof Sandeep Kulashreshta that he will extend support for the University of Mysore to form Tourism management as a different entity or a course at PG level Rangappa said we will start up a course in Travel and Tourism Management from next academic year.
Director Electronic Media Research Centre (EMRC) Prof Niranjan Vanalli along with participants from across the country were present.
