Mysore: A year ago, University of Mysore had announced “Earn while you learn” scheme in its budget to financially support its poor students. The scheme is expected to be launched from this academic year.
The scheme, for which the UoM has earmarked Rs 1 crore for four years, is expected to benefit 200 students in a year. The students will get an opportunity to work on part-time basis in different departments of UoM, laboratories and libraries,sources said.
“Earn while you learn” co-ordinator D Anand said the work on the scheme is in process, and it will be launched from this academic year. “The criteria for selection of students, salary and the working hours have to be worked out. A committee formed by the university will decide on this,” he added.
