Belgaum: Fifteen-year-old MoinJunnedi, who has had over 200 fractures in his body due to brittle bone disease, has been selected for the Indian Para Junior Swimming Team.
The team will be participating in the International Wheel Chair and Amputee Sports (IWAS-2013), the junior world games, to be held on August 6 at Mayaguez in South America.
From Kudachi in Raibag taluk, Moin is a member of the Swimmers Club Belgaum and Aquarius Swim Club Belgaum here. Despite Moins congenital condition that makes his body extremely delicate, he has been trained by Umesh Kalaghatagi, a swimming coach for physically and mentally disabled children. Moin has been training under Kalghatagi for the past four years,sources said.
So far, Moin has participated in four national swimming competitions for disabled and has won seven medals, six gold and one silver. Presently, Moins family stays in Belgaum.

This wonder boy Moin Junnedi has also made it to the India book of records as the “youngest swimmer with Locomotive disability.”
