Mysore, Mar 12: A soldier hailing from Badakanakoppalu village in Hosa Agrahara Hobali of KR Nagar Taluk has lost his life in an exchange of fire with terrorists in Jammu on March 8, Saturday.
The deceased Jawan is Sunil (23), son of Kantharajegowda and Dhanalakshmi couple. A total of nine Indian soldiers have lost their lives in the encounter between the army men and terrorists.
The mortal remains of the departed soldier from Mysore will be brought to his home village on Wednesday, March 12, evening, army sources said.
Sunil who had joined the services of Indian Army in 2011 has been survived by his parents, two sisters and a brother. He had been to his hometown just 20 days ago.
