Mysore Corporation meet discusses modern abattoir proposal

Mysore :The Mysore City Corporation meeting which could not be held in the past couple of months owing to the Model Election Code of Conduct, was held for the first time after the Lok Sabha election, on Thursday May 29. The council which met at the Nalvady Krishnaraja Wodeyar Hall   held discussions on the style of functioning of the Corporation. The meet also paid tributes to former MLA Shankerlinge Gowda, former corporator P Nagaraj and State JD(S) President A Krishnappa  who passed away recently.

The issue of the cleanliness problem cropping up in the city limits owing to  the butcheries came up  for discussion. Even the proposed modern slaughter house to come up at a cost of Rs 39.90 crore was  debated upon.

Corporator Srikantaiah said the construction of a modern slaughter house though was proposed since 1990, the same  has not been implemented till date. This reveals the apathy of the authorities, he said.

Another Corporator S Balu alleged that the Tennis Club at Chamrajnagar has encroached land. Revenue officer Jagadish who responded to the allegation assured to look into the matter.

Mayor NM Rajeshwari, Deputy Mayor Shailendra, Commissioner PG Ramesh and others were present.
