Mysuru: G Madhusudan, Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) has urged the revenue department and other concerned authorities not to take any decision with urgency on 1900 acres land located at Chamundi foot hills at Kurubarahalli survey number 04 and Allanahalli Survey number 11 as the various issues related to the land are pending the in the court. He requested the concerned to maintain the status quo, as important offices are located in the area.
Speaking to the media persons in a press meet held at press club in the city on Tuesday he said, “the above said land is very near to the heart of the city and is valued at more than Rs 20,000 Crore. There are allegations about the illegal registrations in both the survey numbers and cases have been registered against district enrolling officer on illegal registration and investigations are being held on the issue.”
V Srinivas Prasad, Revenue Minister and District In charge Minister had directed to conduct an investigation into the allegations and issues under the leadership of retired IAS officer Narayanswamy. The IAS officer has submitted a report on the issue to the state government. Later, the High Court of Karnataka had given an order to the Deputy Commissioner C Shikha on the matter. At present the issue is in the district court and a judgment on the matter is awaited.
The MLC urged the revenue department to maintain status quo as many important public offices including the zoo, police training centre and others are located in the disputed area.

Karnataka Pradesha Kurubara Sangha: Mention code no, 0715, ‘Kuruba’ as caste in caste census ‘15
“Karnataka Pradesha Kurubara Sangha asks the members of Kuruba community to mention their name of the caste as ‘Kuruba,’ in the upcoming caste census scheduled to be held from April 11 to 30 in the state,” said KC Balaram, Director, Karnataka Pradesh Kurubara Sangha in a press meet held at press club in the city on Tuesday.
In order to uplift the community members from poverty, unemployment and other issues the community members need to mention their caste name as Kuruba with Code No 0715 and sign the papers, the leaders of the community said.

Ashokapuram residents to organize a state level soccer tournament on April 26th
The residents of Ashokapuram are organising state level soccer tournament from April 17 to 19 and a state level wrestling competitions on April 26, said MS Madhusudana, organizer of the event in a press meet held at press club in the city on Tuesday.
International wrestler Joginder Singh and Railway wrestler Sonu are scheduled to take part in the event. The program will be inaugurated by Pramoda Devi Wadiyar, wife of late Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, R Lingappa, Mayor, Mysore City Corporation (MCC), V Srinivas Prasad, Revenue Minister Government of Karnataka and Mysuru District Incharge Minister and other dignitaries are scheduled to take part in the inaugural ceremony.
