Miraculous escape for students as tourist bus crashes into transformer

Mysore: As many as 40 students had a miraculous escape when their tourist bus crashed into an electric transformer on the road side after the driver tried to avert collision with another bus on the foot of Chamundi Hills.  The bus was carrying students from a prestigious college in  Bangalore and most of them were from north India.

The private tourist bus (KA 20 B 2917) which was involved in the mishap belonged to the Good Win Tours and Travels at Bangalore. As the road was one-way the bus was heading towards the zoo after  taking the tourists to the hills. But as the bus neared Tavarekere, the driver of another tourist bus from Kerala which was ahead of it all of a sudden applied brake. The driver of the other bus Puttaraju in order to avert collision too  sudden brake after veering the vehicle to the right. But as it was a slopy area, the bus  hit a compound wall and then the transformer pole.  Soon there was a loud sound and power connection to the transformer got cut off due to a short circuit.

The  front portion of the bus was badly mangled due to the impact of the crash. The passengers later were sent in another bus.
