Minors land in jail after abduction plan goes awry

Mysuru: The gang of three juveniles had set their ambitious really high as they plotted to abduct a seven-year-old girl to eke out a ransom of Rs 5 lac from the girl’s family.

But, their dreams soon shattered like castle of cards after one of them was caught by the locals and beaten black and blue, on May 7 at Siddhartha layout here.

Everything fell in place and two of the members set out on a bike and lured the little girl playing in the courtyard of her house by showing her chocolates.

But, luck was not on their side. The little girl panicked and her uncle darted out of their house to keep tabs on the girl.

Equally petrified boys grabbed the girl and fled the spot. The uncle who was also alert took his bike and started chasing the abductors.

On reaching Sangitha Corner, the girl’s uncle rammed into the kidnappers’ bike and nabbed one, while the other fled the scene.

Soon, the locals gathered and thrashed the boy black and blue before handing him over to the police.

During questioning, the boy revealed that three of them had plotted the same to eke out Rs 5 lac.

All the three kidnappers have been taken into custody by the Nazarbad police.
