Mandya: Imran Sardariya’s upcoming film ‘Uppu, huli khara’ (salt, sour and spice) is in news way before the release of the film.
On Thursday, actor Malashree, who was given a role in the film, held a press meet and fighting back tears she said that film producer K Manju and director Imran have ill-treated her and have raised apprehensions over her acting abilities.
She also showed a message from Imran, which read: “Gdmrng madam, manju sir fuly upset, he is very angry n askd me to stop d project coz of delay frm urside, n performance nt upto d mark, wil get bk to u later mam n im also helples, he is asking u to return d money…(sic)”.
Malashree in the press meet said that she has been acting in Kannada film industry over the last two and half decades but nobody had ever questioned her acting abilities.
Responding to the row, Housing Minister Ambarish said that Malaashree used to get paid more than male actors. If someone says that she is not a good actress then they are wrong.
Speaking to the media personnel at K R S he said that how can she survive for 25 years in Kannada film industry if she is not a good actress? Nobody should comment on her because that shows their disrespect towards Kannada film industry.
