Mandya: The state election commission has rejected the postal vote of a CRPF soldier from Mandya as he had clicked a selfie with it and posted the same on social media.

The Mandya-based CRPF soldier (name withheld), after casting his vote for independent candidate Sumalatha Ambareesh, posted a selfie of the vote on social media. Following this, five persons approached the state election commission against the soldier on April 10.

After receiving directions from the Central election commission, the state election commission directed the Mandya district administration to reject the jawan’s vote.
