Man waiting for bus killed in KSRTC bus hit

Hunasur : A person who was waiting for a bus  lost his life when he was knocked down by a speeding KSRTC bus near Kallahalli Gate here on November 14, Thursday morning.

The deceased is Gopalegowda (55), son of Kari Gowda of Satyagala village in Piriyapattana taluk.  Gopalegowda  was waiting for a bus to return to his hometown after  visiting a relative’s house at Kallahalli when the mishap took place.  A KSRTC bus   bearing registration no KA-09 F4129 which was returning from Mysore  hit Gopalegowda in its bid to overtake another bus. Gopalegowda died on the spot. He is survived by his wife and a daughter.

Soon after the accident, relatives of Gopalegowda and villagers rushed to the spot and expressed their anguish by resorting to a Rasta Roko and even set  tyres afire. The  KSRTC Hunasur depot manager who later arrived at the spot, handed over a cash of Rs 15000 as an immediate compensation to the family of the deceased to conduct the last rites.
