Mysuru: Miscreants have allegedly damaged the left toe of the Mahishasura statue atop Chamundi Hill, reports said.

The miscreants, who succeeded in approaching the statue by breaching the grills around the statue, have damaged the left toe with a stone. The miscreants are said to have left behind the stone at the spot itself.

The incident shows the lack of alertness on the part of the Police, especially when the Chamundi Hill Police Outpost is located very close to the statue.

Thousands of tourists and devotees who aspire to be photographed standing before the statue, are left cursing the miscreants, who have damaged the left toe. The tourists and devotees are hoping that the Police will wake up at least after this incident, and take effective measures to safeguard the statue from miscreants.
