Kridotsav of Madikeri heggade samaj inaugurated

Madikeri: The 13th  Kodagu heggade samaj sports event was inaugurated by open air fire. The event will continue for three days at the at the Hathur high school field marshal Kariyappa ground.  25 teams from 9 regions will be competing for  the cricket cup. For women, a throwball competition will be held,  in which 7 teams will be competing with each other.

Thorera Raja Poovayya, member of State Bank of Mysore inaugurated the event.he said that these sport events strengthen the youth and it also helps to maintain peace in the society.

Padinjaranda Ayyappa president of Kodagu Heggade Samaj hoisted the flag of the sports  event. Speaking to the gathering he said,  we are organising this 13th sport event as it symbolises  unity. Talented students are given scholarships by the members of our community.so students should make use of this. Everyone should work for the betterment of our community.

Thudimada Lokesh , a businesman in Bangalore,  after inaugurating the event said that youth should show interest in sports. It is sad  that in this event,  youth from our community are less in number. He felt that along with education they should also show interest in sports.

Member of heggade samaj, Kakera Dinesh inaugurated the event in a traditional manner and kickstarted the event.Bangalore shylock businesman Lokesh distributed uniforms to  all the contestants.

The Convenor of heggade samaj Korakuttira Sara Changappa welcomed the gathering.

Madikeri corporation member Ajjettira Lakshmi Kuntappa, heads of the community Panikuttira Kuntappa, members Kokkera Sanni Palangappa, Pokkalichanda Kalappa, Charmanda Poovaiah, Sutha Poonacha, shobha Ponnappa, murira Kushalappa were present on the occasion.

Convenor of the event Padinjaranda Prabhukumar was the master of  ceremony and rendered  the vote of thanks.
