Madikeri: The case pertaining to considering DySP Ganapathi’s father, mother, brother and sister as complainant in his suicide case has been posted for hearing on January 28.

The City Principal Civil Judge (Junior Division) JMFC Court was supposed to hear the case on Saturday. But, since Judge Annapurneshwari was on leave, the case was transferred to Additional JMFC Court. However, since Judge Ramesh Babu too was on leave, the case has been posted for hearing on January 28.

It may be recalled that Ganapathi’s son Nehal had given his consent to the ‘B-Sheet’ filed by the CID on September 29. But, Ganapathi’s father Kushalappa, mother Ponnamma, brother Machaiah and sister Sabtha had moved court seeking that they should be considered as complainants in the DySP Ganapathi suicide case.

The case that was posted for hearing on Saturday would have decided if the four can be considered as complainants in the case or not.

DySP Ganapathi had ended life in a hotel room in Madikeri on July 2016 after giving a television interview stating that two IAS officers and the then home minister K J George were responsible for his death.
