Five rowdy sheeters banished from Kodagu district ahead of LS polls

Madikeri: Sub Divisional Officer Javare Gowda has ordered temporary banishment of five rowdy sheeters from Kodagu who come under the district’s jurisdiction, ahead of the upcoming elections.

The order was passed based on a report submitted by the Crime Records Bureau of the Kodagu District Police and all the five rowdy sheeters have been order to leave the district right from the day the order is passed.

The police department had brought noted criminals under its radar ahead of the elections to ensure that peace, law and order are maintained. The Crime Records Bureau on March 18, suggested 5 names to the Sub Divisional Officer, to be temporarily banished from the district, suspecting that the rowdy sheeters could influence voters either with money or muscle.

H B Muruga from Gonikoppa, T K Kaverappa of Madikeri, Kareem Baig alias Imran Raj of Somwarpet, N A Mohammad Ali of Virajpet and A Prathap have been banished to different places of the state.
