Mysuru: This is mind boggling story of a college lecturer who used his political clout to get land allotted from Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board and managed to set up a bar on the said land!

However, what is more surprising is the silence of the police, the excise sleuths and the KIADB authorities.
The reason behind this silence is that the lecturer has been claiming that he has very close connections with none other than Chief Minister Siddaramaiah himself.
The man behind the profitable venture is Umesh Paramshivappa , a government lecturer in a Pre-University college in Kuvempunagar, who simply by using the CM’s name has manged to get a land near Infosys in KIADB Industrial Area.
The location near Infosys draws huge crowd, mainly the youth and college students as the bar remains open during late hours.
The local residents lodged a complaint with the KIADB authorities citing the negative influence on the society, specifically on young boys and girls residing in nearby areas. However, all authorities have turned a blind eye and that has given more impetus to the roaring business.
People in the region have been wondering if lecturers end up opening bars, what would happen to the students whom they teach.
