Mysore : A lady two-wheeler rider  died on the spot when her moped was knocked down by a State Road Transport corporation Bus near the Shanthala Theatre here on Thursday June 5.

The deceased is Shobha (35), a driving school instructor in the city. The mishap occurred at around 11 am  when Shobha  despite the ‘halt’ signal, overstepped the signal area near the Seeta Vilasa Chatra when a KSRTC bus heading from Ramaswamy Circle rammed into her bike. As Shobhha fell on the road another bus from behind ran over her.

The circle near Seeta Vilas Chatra is considered an accident zone despite a traffic signal located there. Locals say their repeated appeal to have a speed breaker here too proved futile.
