Mysore: Karnataka State Open University honoured the children of its employees who scored good marks in the academic year 2013-14 at a function held at the Kaveri Sabhangana here on Saturday August 2.




Justice Chandrashekar Gurubasappa Hunagund, Member Human Rights Commission, Bangalore who was the chief guest honoured the meritorious students.
Speaking to the students and parents, Justice Chandrashekhar said that scoring marks should not be the ultimate aim of education. He urged parents not to pressurise their children too much as far as studies is concerned.
Parents should support the children in whichever field he/she is interested and should refrain from forcing children to take up studies in a field in which they are not interested. He also shared his work experience with the gathering.
The program was presided by Prof. M G Krishan, Vice Chancellor, Karnataka State Open University. Prof. P. S. Naik, Registrar, Karnataka State Open University was also present.
