Mysuru: Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) which has woken up after the marks card scam became public has formed a committee comprising 12 lecturers to verify the authenticity of marks cards issued since the academic year 2012-13.

The 12-member committee has started the verification process of marks cards from July 27 itself after City Crime Branch (CCB) Police accelerated the inquiry into the case. The committee has taken over 60-70,000 marks cards into its possession, rejected on technical grounds earlier by the Institute of Engineering Management, a company based in Mumbai executing the supply of marks cards after it bagged the contract.

The committee will examine the marks card supplied, rejected and those in the process of printing at the Mumbai-based company in the last 15-20 days to get a clear picture. The committee will match those details with those of students who had enrolled into KSOU as in-house candidates and through private institutions.
