Mysore: The KPTCL staff  organised a protest on Tuesday May 6 against legislator and former speaker Ramesh Kumar for his alleged provocative remarks against BESCOM staff saying “ Make them stand in a row and hack them. Tie them to electric pole and leave them  starving for three days.”

The protestors took out a rally from CHESCOM head office  to the DC office where they organised a protest meet.

The protestors pointed out that the comments made by Ramesh Kumar at the ZP meeting at Kolar has demoralised the staff of the power supply companies in the state and has also created a sense of fear among them.

They also demanded  steps to fill in the vacancies in the  power supply companies in various parts of the state. The existing staff are working under pressure  as nearly 40 to 50 per cent of posts were vacant, they said.

P Balakrishna, President of the KPTCL Officers and Staff Federation, leaders Shivaram, Parthasarathy, C Raviningappa, Shivalingaiah and others were present.

The agitators also submitted a memorandum to the DC on the occasion.
