Chamarajanagar: The Kollegal police have made two arrests on Sunday February 16 in connection with the murder of two entrepreneur friends from Bangalore who were brutally killed by beheaded them and burning their bodies.The third accused is the case has succeeded in escaping from the clutches of the police.


The accused persons have been identified as T Arun Rao, the owner of Usha Farm House, Jageri and Tamara Building Construction along with his two employees – Ningaraju, a caretaker and Rudragouda Patil, his driver.
The trio allegedly murdered 35-year-old Suji Thomas and his friend 32-year-old Binnose Thomas from HSR Layout in Bangalore.
It is said that Suji Thomas, knew Rao through a common club in Indiranagar Bangalore.In a conversation the latter learnt that Suji was involved in oil business at Kuwait. Thomas invited Rao to join the business. Rao, attracted by the lucrative offer of making money invested Rs 2.45 crore with Suji.
However the money was not repaid to Rao after which a frustrated Rao filed a complaint of deceit in Baiyappanahalli police station, Bangalore, against Suji in 2012. Suji had failed to invest the money in business though he promised to repay the sum in instalments. But Rao was so annoyed with the swindle that he asked Suji to come to Sattegal on February 7 and allegedly killed him.
As Binnose too came with Suji, he too was killed as they feared that he would have informed the police about the murder if they left him.
Rao reportedly confessed that both were taken by him in his car into the forest region from Sattegal before killing them. After tying up both the victims with ropes and killing them with the help of boulders and rods in Yemmatti forest area, their heads were severed with knives, their clothes were removed, and the bodies were set on fire in an effort to destroy the evidence, the arrested persons told the police.
They also said that the severed heads, blood-stained clothes, rods, knives etc were placed in a gunny bag along with some stones, before dropping this bag off into a channel of Shimsha River at Handihalla. The police said they have retrieved the bag in this channel with the help of expert divers.
