Mysuru: As the first ceremony of King Yaduveer’s wedding ceremony (scripting of the invitation) was over, the King and his queen to-be Hrishika Kumari Singh straight away headed to Kodi Someshwara Temple here and bowed their heads before the deity seeking his blessings.
It is said that the Wodeyars, from time immemorial have been bowing their heads before Kodi Someshwara before embarking on any journey.
Kodi Someshwara Temple is 400-years-old and no auspicious ceremony in the Wodeyar dynasty has ever begun without seeking blessings here.
The Royal family has always offered prayers here before leaving Mysuru on journey.
However, King Yaduveer, who has been educated abroad, has upheld his traditions by visiting the temple along with Rajmata Pramodha Devi and his to-be bride Hrishika Kumari Singh, Princess of Dungarpur, Rajasthan before proceeding to Bengaluru.
