Mysuru: Finally, the single-tusked rogue killer elephant that had trampled several lives to death has been captured, with the help of tamed Dasara elephants, on Thursday.

The rogue tusker had killed three persons in Kodagu district over the last one week. Two days ago, the state government, taking cognisance of the seriousness of the issue, gave green signal for capturing of the elephant.
Accordingly Dasara elephants like Abhimanyu, Arjun, Krishna, Prashantha, Vikrama and Harsha were chipped in to operation that began on Thursday at about 10.30 am.
The Forest personnel, at about 11.30 am, spotted the rogue tusker in a parade of 20 elephants at Bhoothanakadu estate.
The rogue tusker, estimated to be about 35-years-old was tranquilised before being captured.
The captured elephant has been sent to Dubare Elephant Camp.
