Karnataka Civil and Ration card holder welfare association urges Govt. to ban Maggi

Mysuru: Karnataka Civil and Ration card holder welfare association members protested here urging banning of Nestle’s Maggi products after coming to know from media reports that  it causes severe  injuries to the human body here on Tuesday.

One of the protestors,  D Basaveshwara said, “UP food regulator FSDA (Food Safety and Drug Administration), had found Monosodium Glutamate and lead in excess of the prescribed limit in Maggi samples tested by it. The FSDA had collected the samples from the Easy Day store in Barabanki and had sent the consignment for testing, which showed that the quantum of lead present was 17 times more than the stipulated limit, which is considered hazardous.”

He urged that the state government and central Govt.to order  Nestle Company to take back the March 2014 batch maggi products which may cause health hazards to consumers.
