Karnataka BJP urge Centre not to implement K.Rangan report

Mysore(DC): Prakash Javadekar the Union minister of state for environment and forests has informed the BJP MPs that he will study the Kasturirangan report on Western Ghats before taking a final call on it.

Karnataka BJP unit,approached the minister seeking his intervention in this regard. Reportedly the BJP MPs from the region which will be impacted by the Kasturirangan recommendation for the conservation of Western Ghats will meet the minister and hold discussion.

During the parliament session, the MPs-Prathap Simha (Mysore), Nalin Kumar Kateel (Dakshina Kannada), Ananthakumar Hegade (Uttara Kannada) and Shobha Karandlaje (Udupi-Chikmaglore)-will meet Jadadekar and discuss before accepting the recommendations of the Kasturirangap report.

The Mysore MP said the minister has assured him that he will not rush to implement the Kasturirangan report. There has been protest against the recommendations of the panel in Kodagu district, which is represented by the Mysore MP.
