“Kannada film industry is running short of good movies”

Mysuru: The Kannada film industry is running short of good movies and the lead actors are least bothered about making good movies said  S V Rajendra Singh Babu, President of Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy.

He was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the Kannada Cinema and Novels program held at Rani Bahadur Auditorium organized by the Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy, Kanteerava Studios Ltd, Govt of Karnataka and Department of Information and Public Relations.

Kannada Literature has immense subjects through which we can improve our knowledge but the present actors do not have the basic knowledge of literature. Actors should read literature which will help them to improve their knowledge to make good movies.

Universities should come up with film courses which are very much needed, he added.

Responding on film courses Rangappa VC of Mysore University said the University is ready to introduce the diploma courses and Degree courses as well.

Hamsalekha Music Director opined that movie making should be decentralized rather than doing all technical parts by a single person which is worthless. The movies which are coming now days are not message oriented like olden days, only rowdyism stories are highlighted.

He also said in coming days, the Kannada Industry will have good movie makers and technicians because many eminent movie makers like Nagathihalli Chandrashekar are working to bring new enthusiasm to the industry which is appreciable.

Speaking on songs Nagathihalli Chandrashekar Director said the quality of present songs are coming down.

In the inauguration Prof K S Rangappa S V Rajendra Singh Babu,Vijayalakshmi Singh, Doddarange Gowda, MLA Vasu, Vijayalakshmi Urs President of Kanteerava Studios Ltd and others were present.
