Mysuru: Two juveniles were arrested on Thursday November 6, on the charges of raping an eight-year-old girl. The incident took place on Wednesday November 5 at Hudco Layout in Bannimantap.
The suspects, aged 14 and 16, allegedly raped the minor girl who was an orphan and was being raised by a tea vendor at Hudco Layout. On?Monday, the girl’s foster father had left her in the care of his friend in the same locality before going out of town on some work.
According to the girl, the son of her father’s friend and his friend sexually assaulted her. The duo threatened her at knifepoint and said they would kill her if she disclosed the incident to anybody. The 14-year-old boy is in class 8 while his elder peer does menial job.
The next day, when her father returned, the girl is said to have developed acute pain in her legs. She narrated the incident to her father, who along with the help of two neighbours, took her to a private hospital nearby.
The doctor medically examined her and confirmed that she had been sexually assaulted. He referred her to Cheluvamba Hospital for further tests, as it is mandatory for such cases to be dealt with at a government hospital.
