Mysore:The curtain drawn for the world famous Dasara Utsav amidst chaos among the viewers,abrupt stalling of jumbos magnificent procession, as the golden throne carried celebrated jumbo leaned twice.




















Although the Dasara Utsav that was held for nine-day was successful, there was chaos at the entry passes counter.A large number of people gathered in front of the counter at the palace premises, despite it was announced that the authorities ran out of stocks. The district-in-charge minister V Srinivas Prasad expressed his displeasure over the issue and was about to instruct the authorities to stall the celebrations, while CM Siddaramaiah managed to calm his temper.
A woman was injured in the stampede.The mahouts managed to restore the golden throne that leaned twice from the lead tuskers back while the procession was underway. In spite of jumbos procession was successful, it has not entered the main gate of Bala Bhavan located at Bannimantap, as it began from palace. Instead it proceeded on the shortcut route of Hanumanta Nagar, about a half kilometer to Bannimantap. The viewers who were waiting since the morning besides the road did not get a chance to view the majestic jumbos procession.
Royals break the tradition:
As per the tradition, the erstwhile royal Srikantadatta Wodeyar was suppose to partake in the jumbos procession seated in silver chariot, instead he chose to travel that distance in a chauffeur driver car and also did not shower flowers. It was learned that the royal has done so because of his ill health.
The city that wore festive mood owing to Mysore Dasara since the past one month, now seems deserted as the tourists are returning to the homelands.
