Mysuru: A married man who had an illicit affair with his former girlfriend killed her as she was persuading him to marry her.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, March 30 near Chikka Beechanagalli village in Bilakere station limits.

The deceased is identified as Ranjitha(21) who was working as home nurse.

It is learnt that Mahesh and Ranjitha were in love from their college days, but Mahesh later got married and has two children. Even after marriage he continued affair with Ranjitha. On Monday she had forced him to marry her. Enraged Mahesh tricked her, called her to a secluded place on the outskirts of the village, raped her and then murdered her with the help of his friends.

However, it is also said that Mahesh who had recorded their intimate conversation, later had started blackmailing her to have physical relationship with him. But, he kept dodging the topic of marriage.

Bilakere police have registered a rape case against Mahesh and his two friends in this regard.
