Mysore: Mysore University organized an inter collegiate competition at its Manasagangotri campus on the 27th of October.
The Competition was inaugurated by Professor P. K. Rajshekar, Professor Emeritus. Dept. of Kannada Studies, Kuvempu University at a well attended function that had Sowmyalatha, film and TV actor as the chief guest. The inaugural was presided over by K S Rangappa, Vice Chancellor, Mysore University.

After inaugurating the competition, Professor RajShekar, addressing the students, said that “students should utilize the opportunities given and take part in cultural events because getting good marks in studies will not complete the student.” “Taking part in competitions will help students to meet different people where knowledge can shared”, he added.
Chief guest Sowmyalatha shared her experience of the film industry and wished all the participants good luck in the competitions.
K S Rangappa shared his personal experience of Indian culture. He said, “as India has a great cultural background, we should not spoil it, but youth is unfortunately adopting western culture which should avoided”. He asserted, “taking part in cultural competitions like these, will improve the knowledge and students will get a chance to know the culture of India”.
Competitions like singing (all types), drawing, drama, collage, folk dance, cartoon drawing, clay moulding, skit, mad ads were some of the many events held during the competition which is scheduled to go on till the 29th of Oct.
Dr M Rudrayya Director, Student welfare committee and C Basavaraju Registrar of University of Mysore were also present.
