India can cater food for next 2 years: MP on National Consumer Day

Mysore: India has food grains for next two years said, R Dhruvanarayan, Member of Parliament, Chamaraja Nagar at National Consumers Day at Vishveshvaraih Auditorium organised by District Administration, Zilla Panchayath, Food and Citizen Supply and Consumer transaction dept

After inaugurating the programme he said that many problems have came acrossed regarding the distribution of ration cards in the state, besides concerned departments have to spread awareness regarding the proper distribution of BPL cards among poor people.

Farmers in India have done a great job of fulfilling the food demand of the country where a government will be able to cater country for the next two years. Recalling past, he added that once there was a time when country had to import food grains from the US.

Later Dr. B Pushpa Amarnath, President, Zilla Panchayath said that food products should be utilized in the proper manner so as to maintain the healthy relationship between the buyer and seller.

Moreover, government organised several departments to counsel consumers regarding their buying pattern and shared relevant tips.
