Mysuru: Shylesh, Dept of Journalism KSOU, speaking during the debate conducted by the SBRR Mahajana First Grade college said that the main reason for the huge discussion on movies like PK , is because India is a heterogeneous country where the culture, lifestyle, tradition changes by the mile. “Since we are in a transition period and the present youth has started questioning and thinking in logical way, these questions are being raised in a logical peaceful manner. If the movie PK released 20 years back then the violence would been much more”. He advocated usage of laws enshrined in the constitution of India when religious sentiments are hurt.

During the debate students discussed movies like PK, OMG and Vishwaroopam where the religious aspects are given importance in the stories. Shylesh advised the students to read more books and the Indian constitution as well, where they can get all the answers regarding the topic.
Poornachandra Tejaswi, State Award winner for the movie Lucia said “it feels good that the present generation is so active that a topic like this is being discussed”.
He opined that Rajkumar Hirani has deliberately used the religious topic in his movie PK and tried to made us to think about that.
“PK will remain as a Landmark in Indian cinema and next generation may get to know about present situation which wont be there by that time”, he said.
