Mysore : SR Hiremath, President of Samaja Parivartana organization has urged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah known as the harbinger of social justice, to prove his commitment by dropping tainted minister Santosh Lad from the cabinet.
Hiremath said the Supreme Court, Lokayukta and CEC reports have made it clear that he was guilty. Despite having strong evidences, it is regretting that he is still allowed to continue in the cabinet. Stating that Santosh Lad was close to CM Siddaramaiah during his Janatha Parivar days, Hiremath said this was one reason for the support of the CM to Lad.
He said he had already discussed the issue with the Governor and had even furnished evidences. “I had fought against Janardhan Reddy by joining hands with Tapal Ganesh and even succeeded. Now, Ganesh has identified himself with a political party and therefore I have maintained distance from him. He said the allegations that he had misused foreign money was baseless and politically instigated.
Admitting that he had received threatening calls, Hiremath said there was no question of bowing to any pressure.
