Mysuru: The upcoming Zilla Panchayat polls in Mysuru is unfurling precarious episodes with a JD(S) official candidate for H D Kote being attacked by a splinter group supporters. However, the alert locals who nabbed the attackers, stripped the attackers and then tied them up to a pole.

During the interrogation, it is learnt that the two attackers are die hard fans of JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy.

It may be recalled that HD Kote Taluk JD(S) President and TP poll ticket aspirant Nagaraju and his supporters had allegedly ransacked the JD(S) office and set the portraits of senior JD(S) leaders ablaze, for the simple reason that Eeregowda was given ticket from HD Kote constituency for TP polls.

Raged by the same, some of Nagaraju’s supporters allegedly gained entry into Eeregowda’s residence at Kaniyanahundi on early hours of Friday and launched an attack with lethal weapons.

When Eeregowda and his family raised alarm, the neighbour who rushed to help nabbed two out of four attackers identified as Dharma and Mahesh. The two were later stripped and tied to a pole before being handed over to the police.

A case has been registered at H D Kote police station.

Kumaranna’s Fans
The two are said to be staunch supporters and die hard fans of JD(S) State President H D Kumaraswamy. Of the two, Mahesh even has a tattoo of Kumaraswamy etched on his right arm.
