Mysuru: A 26-year-old youth allegedly consumed acid and committed suicide after being harassed by money lenders.
Mohammad Rizwan is the deceased. The incident occurred in Gousiyanagar in Mysuru.

Rizwan had borrowed an amount of Rs 20,000 to run his shop. He paid over Rs 2 lacs of the interest amount but had not been able to pay the same from last few months. Owing to this delay, enraged money lenders waylaid him and threatened to lock his house and take away all his valuables from his house.

He was reportedly depressed after being threatened publicly and consumed acid in his shop on January 9.

He was shifted to the hospital after his condition worsened. After 26 days of battling for life in the hospital, he breathed his last on Thursday, February 4.

He has left behind three little daughters.

Before his death he revealed as to how Mohammad, Yogesh and Munavar had harassed him for money.

Udayagiri police have registered a case in this regard. Munavar has been arrested and the police have launched a manhunt for the accused.
