Mysore :On June 9th Umesh and his family from Madhugiri in Tumkur districti was robbed of gold jwellery of about 600 grams at the Hotel Grand Maurya where they were staying. A case was registered with the Vijaynagar Police Station. Police SI Raghuprasad, along with his team has now cracked the case.
He matched the finger prints collected from the hotel room and found that the fingerprints matched with the print of one of the five burglars who had been detained on suspicion for their involvement in a robbery case at a house in 4th phase in Vijayanagar.
It is learnt that Raghuprasad, donned the guise of a beggar and waited all night at the railway track near Metagalli and found the accused sleeping there. But he sensed their presence and gave the police the slip and got himself to the city’s KR Hospital. He along with his team of Head Constable Chennabasappa, Constables Sagar, Suresh and Somashekar posed as staff of the Hospital and nabbed the accused.
Apparently, after committing the crime, the accused remained at the hotel and watched the investigation of the crime scene by the police including the Police Commissioner. However after the arrest of the five suspects, the accused was on the run finding shelter on railway platforms, hospitals and isolated places to escape from the police,
Vijayanagar Inspector C.V. Ravi had formed teams to nab the elusive burglar who managed to remain at large for over a month of the burglary.
City Police Commissioner Dr. M.A. Saleem has lauded the efforts of the nabbing team.
